Duties and Responsibilities

The county secretary shall provide guidance and direction to the County Public Service and will be answerable to the governor

Duties and responsibilities will include:

a) Being the head of the County Public service;

b) Being responsible for arranging the business and keeping the minutes of the County Executive; Committee subject to the directions of the executive committee;

c) Conveying decisions of the executive committee to the appropriate persons or authorities;

d) Ensuring efficient management of resources and coordination of county government resources; and e) Performing any other functions as directed by the county executive committee.

Requirements for the appointment for appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

a) Be a Kenyan citizen;

b) Be in possession of Bachelor’s degree, in either strategic management, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized In Kenya;

c) Be in possession of a Masters degree in either strategic management, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent qualifications from a University recognized in Kenya

d) Have working experience of not less than 10(ten) years at managerial level;

e) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution;

f) Be conversant with government policies and regulations;

g) Be conversant with the constitution of Kenya and Devolution laws;

h) Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;

I) Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict time lines;

j) Have good Interpersonal and communication skills;

k) Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objective and vision 2030;
