Bungoma County Government
Specific duties will include:
a) Day-to-day management of the county statistics including managing its funds and property;
b) Administration and management of the staff;
c) Planning, authorizing, coordinating and supervising all official statistical programmes undertaken within the county statistical system;
d) Establish standards and promoting the use of best practices and methods in the production and dissemination of statistical information across the national statistical system;
e) Collecting, compiling, analyzing, abstracting and disseminating statistical information on the matters specified in the first schedule of the statistics Act Cap 112 and f) Maintaining comprehensive and reliable county socio-economic database.
Requirements for the Director Statistics
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
a) Served for a cumulative period of ten (10) years relevant experience, three (3) of which as Principal Economist/Principal Statistician Job Group “P” and above or in a comparable position in the public Service or private;
b) Bachelors Degree in any of the following; Economics, Statistics, Demography, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics;
c) Masters of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSC) or Master of Philosophy (MPHI) in Economics, Statistics, Demography, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics;
d) Demonstrated outstanding professional competence and wide experience in Sectoral Policy formulation and implementation matched with clear appreciation of the Kenya’s Economics needs at the county, sectoral and sub-county level and
e) Demonstrated a high degree of administrative ability and leadership.
