Job Description

The position is based in Mombasa.

The ideal candidate will handle all steps in the process from suspect through to implementation. Tendering, quoting, seeking clients’ and growing the business of the existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Annual work plan, targets, budget and budget implementation for the Business development.
Managing and organising business development.
Setting up and implementation of business targets, business development, driving sales.
Setting and implementing, annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly targets, chase results and report on the results, activate and lead the agents and team members.
Business development, establish and maintain a sound client base and sales.
Supervise and organise response on tender bids and request for quotations.
Supervise steer, develop and maintain, customer contact and customer experience. Reporting to management on Business Development progress.
Setting-up the concept of accounts management, and roll out overall training of staff in relation to clients.


Must have Msc/Bsc Engineering & Commercial with ample post graduate education e.g. MBA .
Must have professional training courses in Sales, Customer Experience Development, Tendering and financial/project management or other related fields.
Ample experience in international preferable East African environment with Business development.
Independent working experience for Business Development of complex products, in industry, civil / mechanical.
Experience with sales, client orientation, quotations, tendering and customer satisfaction programmes.
Earlier experience with costing and marketing through tendering is necessary.
Communicative elegance, ability to probe.
Written communication, legal and business context: Writing and editing skills.
Influence: Able to give & take, lead and set targets, guide discussions, take a clear stance.
Set targets and guide the efforts efficiently to reach them effectively.
Market sensitive, knowing the market, able to deepen out and create new markets.
Warm personality, with concern for others, practical services orientation.
Action oriented realist, easy in catching up new developments and translate these into action.
Strong in planning, a decisive extravert, voicing out logic analyses and question values and logic.
