The Kenyatta International Convention Centre is established as a State Corporation under the Tourism Act 2011 to discharge the following mandates:
Organize and host meetings and provide incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre.
Develop and implement National Meetings, Incentives for Conferences and Exhibitions, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
Market the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board.
Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the objectives and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

The Corporate Communications Manager reports to the Director, Corporate Services and is responsible for developing and delivering communications and public relations messages and materials to stakeholders.
Initiate Development of communications and media strategy for the organization
Development of campaign and policy strategies for MICE business
Coordinate a publications calendar for KICC
Manage Public Relations and press release
Manage internal communication
Implement and expand communication strategy
Managing public and media relations
Develop and maintain a database and email distribution lists of relevant media contacts.
Coordinate the generation of content for corporation’s website
Coordinate content, editing, publication and distribution of corporation’s publication.
Coordinating of the drafting of official speeches and briefings
Initiating the development of corporate affairs and communication policies, strategies, procedures and systems;
Coordinating all corporate communications and related matters in the Corporation;
Coordinating the implementation of the corporation corporate communications strategy;
Planning and conducting programs designed to create and maintain a positive corporate image;
Planning and directing the communication strategies and policies;
Coordinating the production of in-house publications and other communication materials;
Managing corporate communications and media relations as required;
Managing Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes;
Managing stakeholders relationships;
Coordinating stakeholder and service delivery surveys;
Coordinating complaints handling and resultant statutory reporting;
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
A minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in a supervisory role;
Bachelors Degree in any of the following:- Journalism, Mass Communications, Public Relations or other relevant social science from a recognized institution;
Master’s Degree in business or related field /social science from a recognized University;
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Member of Public Relations Society of Kenya;
Proficiency in computer applications; and
Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Applicants must comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution and avail clearance certificates from:
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (certificate of good conduct)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax Compliance
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

TERMS OF OFFER
The successful candidate’s appointment will be as follows:-
Job Grade KICC2 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once subject to performance
Job Grade KICC 3 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable subject to performance.
Job Grade KICC 4, Job Grade KICC 5, Job Grade KICC 6 and Job Grade KICC 7 shall be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms
