The Kenyatta International Convention Centre is established as a State Corporation under the Tourism Act 2011 to discharge the following mandates:
Organize and host meetings and provide incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre.
Develop and implement National Meetings, Incentives for Conferences and Exhibitions, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
Market the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board.
Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the objectives and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

DIRECTOR, CORPORATE PLANNING – JOB GRADE KICC 2(1POST) Ref. KICC/ DCP /2018
The Director, Corporate Planning reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for initiating and leading strategic process for the development and implementation of long-term, medium and short term plans. The director is also responsible for monitoring and evaluation of corporate performance and coordination of the risk management framework.
Initiating the development of the long, medium and short term corporate strategies and Plans
Coordinating implementation of the KICC Strategic Plan by use of the Balanced Scorecard
Coordinating implementation of Risk Management framework in the organization
Providing the platform for planning in the organization
Coordinating Corporate research on all matters in the organization
Overseeing the management Quality management system in the Corporation
Coordinating preparation and implementation of Corruption Prevention plan and strategies
Coordinating Monitoring and Evaluation of the Corporation’s performance;
Coordinating the identification of performance contracting targets and annual work plans
Initiating the corporation’s business process re-engineering in the Corporation
Providing overall leadership to the directorate and be in charge of all the functions of the directorate
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
A minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) years’ should be in a management position.
Bachelors Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration or any other related field from a recognized institution
Masters Degree in Economics, Strategy, Marketing, Business Administration and any other related field from a recognized institution
Be a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), Institute of Risk Management, ISACA
Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
Proficiency in computer applications
Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Applicants must comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution and avail clearance certificates from:
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (certificate of good conduct)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax Compliance
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

TERMS OF OFFER
The successful candidate’s appointment will be as follows:-
Job Grade KICC2 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once subject to performance
Job Grade KICC 3 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable subject to performance.
Job Grade KICC 4, Job Grade KICC 5, Job Grade KICC 6 and Job Grade KICC 7 shall be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms
