Job Description

The Kenyatta International Convention Centre is established as a State Corporation under the Tourism Act 2011 to discharge the following mandates:

Organize and host meetings and provide incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre.
Develop and implement National Meetings, Incentives for Conferences and Exhibitions, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
Market the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board.
Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the objectives and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable person and invites applications for the following post:


The Principal Compliance Officer reports to the Planning Manager and is responsible for quality assurance.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-

Implementing of quality assurance policies and procedures in the Corporations;
Managing Departmental internal processes for compliance with the quality management system;
Coordinating Quality Management Representative functions in the Corporation;
Undertaking sensitization of staff on awareness of customer requirements to comply with set standards;
Guiding the implementation of risk management function in the Corporation
Ensuring that document processes comply with the required standards;
Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications;
Preparing and ensure implementation of Corruption Prevention plan and strategies
Preparing and submitting in a timely manner periodic reports to the Corporation;
Coordinating internal audits and follow-up audits;


For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

A minimum period six of (6) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the level of senior officer
A minimum period five of (5) years experience in ISO or other Quality Management System Training
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
Certificate/ training (not less than four (4) weeks in Risk Management
Bachelors Degree in Business, Strategy, Social Science or related field from a recognized institution
Masters Degree Business, Social Science or related field from a recognized institution
Membership to Institute of Risk Management, ISACA
Have a diploma or its equivalent qualification in Quality Management Systems (QMS) from a recognized institution
Proficiency in computer applications
Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution


Applicants must comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution and avail clearance certificates from:

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (certificate of good conduct)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax Compliance
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

The successful candidate’s appointment will be as follows:-

Job Grade KICC2 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once subject to performance
Job Grade KICC 3 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable subject to performance.
Job Grade KICC 4, Job Grade KICC 5, Job Grade KICC 6 and Job Grade KICC 7 shall be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms
