The Kenyatta International Convention Centre is established as a State Corporation under the Tourism Act 2011 to discharge the following mandates:
Organize and host meetings and provide incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre.
Develop and implement National Meetings, Incentives for Conferences and Exhibitions, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders.
Market the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board.
Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the objectives and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER -JOB GRADE KICC 3 – (1POST) Ref. KICC/ TSM /2018
The Technical Services Manager reports to the Director Operations and is responsible for mechanical, electrical and building repair and maintenance of building fabric, plant and equipment within the Convention Centre.
Provide leadership in the department to ensure that the existing installations are maintained at the acceptable optimum standards.
Works with the Director to implement programs and projects aimed at achieving departmental mission and long-term objectives.
Assists in the overall planning, organization and management of all aspects of utility operations, including general administration, budgeting, planning, and policy development.
To organize service activities to ensure the department’s efficient and profitable operation by satisfying customers and enhancing customer relations.
Ensure that the Department achieves target and budget objectives by ongoing examination of accounts and daily & weekly operating controls.
Ensure that appropriate action is taken where adverse variations to target achievement occur or inadequate performance is suspected. Investigate actions and strategies to bring about necessary improvements.
Ensure accurate recording of parts and service times, job costing and invoicing in the Technical Service Department.
Ensure workshop, tools, equipment and other department assets are controlled and used effectively to complete customer repairs within time expectations
Managing the departmental administrative duties e.g. preparation of performance reports, staff matters and development and modification of the management systems
Any other lawful duties assigned by management from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
A Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Masters Degree in Engineering or Architecture
Professional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable
A minimum period eight of (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the level of senior officer
Proficiency in computer applications
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Applicants must comply with Chapter 6 of the Constitution and avail clearance certificates from:
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (certificate of good conduct)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) – Tax Compliance
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

TERMS OF OFFER
The successful candidate’s appointment will be as follows:-
Job Grade KICC2 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable once subject to performance
Job Grade KICC 3 shall be appointed on a contract of five (5) years renewable subject to performance.
Job Grade KICC 4, Job Grade KICC 5, Job Grade KICC 6 and Job Grade KICC 7 shall be appointed on permanent and pensionable terms
