National Cereals And Produce Board
National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) is a state corporation that procures and manages the Country’s Strategic Food Reserve (SFR) stocks and distributes GoK-subsidized Fertiliser and Relief Food. It also trades commercially in various grain and related products and services. NCPB would like to recruit suitably qualified and competent persons to fill the below vacant positions on three-year fixed-term contract:
1. General Manager, Finance & Accounting (Job Group D4)
The Jobholder oversees the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions; reporting of and reporting trends related to the NCPB’s critical success factors and benchmarks that allow NCPB to stay on its strategic course and undertaking planning and analysis that enables the organization to monitor its critical risks. S/he ensures application of sound accounting principles, systems and techniques for the organisation’s financial resources from the perspective of funds, NCPB’s assets, liabilities, revenue, expenditure and costs. The Jobholder also contributes to the executive management of NCPB.
(a) Ensuring the organisation has quality financial information at all times;
(b) Leading business modelling and forecasting;
(c) Contributing to the organisation’s performance;
(d) Contributing to the organisation adapting appropriately to change and responding adequately to risk;
(e) Strategic thinking as a member of top management;
(f) Ensuring organisational competitiveness through environmental scanning and competitor analysis;
(g) Advising Management on financial implications of new and existing ventures;
(h) Ensuring optimal utilisation of organisational resource;
(i) Proper financial planning and availability of cash for various activities; and
(j) Coordinating programmes and projects with other members of the team and across the business
Impact of Results
The key results have an impact on the overall efficiency and effectiveness of NCPB including improved business results and client services. A well-run Finance function impacts on the organisation’s ability to acquire and allocate resources that meets the organisation’s financial requirements that are an essential element for the attainment of its corporate objectives
Qualifications and Experience
1) A Bachelor’s degree in a Finance/Accounting or other business related field
2) A Masters Master’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
3) CPA K and membership with ICPAK
4) Minimum of 10 years in a Finance and Accounting function, five (5) of which should be in the post of Finance Manager Level or Chief Accountant or equivalent.
5) Membership of a professional body in the area of specialization.

· A clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
