Laboratory Assistant fora New International School – Tatu City

The school has proven excellence, particularly on the academic and leadership front, with a British Curriculum – IGCSE system. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar position in school set up.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting up equipment, chemicals and supplies for chemistry, physics and biology laboratories;
Maintain and oversee inventory of equipment and chemical supplies.
Ordering and handling the required chemicals and gasses under the direction of the teachers.
Properly sterilize equipment and glassware using the appropriate solvents.
Prepare and perform titrations to verify the concentration of standardized solutions.
Research and test the efficiency of new and exciting alternative experiments.
Prepare molar solutions of acids by diluting concentrated solutions and calculate relative volumes of concentrate acid and water.
Prepare buffer solutions of a given pH and calibrate the pH meter, prepare chemical indicators and biological stain solutions using appropriate quantities of reagents.
Assist teachers in supervising activities, setting and invigilating practical exam papers, moderating and marking the practical exam papers.
Organise and oversee Science days and the Science Expo.
Promotion of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences department for Open days.


Must have a bachelor degree in a related field.
Must have experience working in a laboratory in a school set up.
Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, pupils and parents.
Energetic, self-motivated and able to use own initiative.
Ability to work within a team.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Good organizational skills.
Good communication skills.
Computer literacy skills is imperative.

Monthly Gross Salary: Open depending on skills and experience.

Position Level: Lower Mid-Level.
