Bakery quality Assurance Manager (Gross salary 60K)


The QA plans, coordinates, and directs the food safety, quality assurance and sanitation programs at the facility level, to ensure consistency with established food safety and quality standards.
Interacts with the facility quality assurance/sanitation staff, to verify food safety, quality, sanitation performance and ensure compliance with specifications.
Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Manages the staff of the QA and Sanitation functions and provides training on food safety, sanitation, product quality and specifications, and interacts with regulatory agencies regarding conformance to requirements.
Oversees all activities pertaining to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Oversees all activities pertaining to product quality and compliance with product specifications.
Oversees all activities pertaining to sanitation to ensure compliance to all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and cleanliness standards while executing timely start-up of the plant each production day.
Develops and maintains all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Works with purchasing and chemical provider to have the proper types and amount of chemicals and cleaning supplies on hand to ensure the ability follow cleaning procedures in a cost effective manner.
Monitor pest control procedures in bakery and ensures a pest/rodent free bakery. Discusses all pest control problems with their designated Pest Control Officer.
Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP and Food Safety Plan
Consult and advise plant manager on food safety and quality issues/deviations.


Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Bakery Quality Assurance/Food Safety capacity.
Preferred Preventative Control Qualified Individual.
Working knowledge of quality auditing, food safety and food quality standards.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic or other form.
Certified in quality management systems specialist.
