The Administration Unit of the Kenya
Country Office is a common support centre for administrative services including
protocol for both Regional Office and the Kenya Country Office. In
Nairobi, some administrative services have been delegated to the Host Country
Services of UNON but others, including protocol related are still handled
directly by the Administration Unit.
The position will report to the P3 Administrative
Specialist, heading Administration unit under the overall supervision and
guidance of the Chief of Operations.
How can you make a difference?
Liaise with the relevant Host Country Government
entities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and/or Protocol unit) for
troubleshooting of any protocol related matters.Assist staff members and their recognized dependents in
processing and following up their requests for visas, resident permits and
diplomatic identification as well as other necessary related documents in
accordance with the requirement of the United Nations and the Host
Country.Make hotel reservations for new International staff
members, UNICEF visitors, consultants on duty travel and/or participants
to regional meetings organized in NairobiManage Airport Protocol Operations; facilitate airport
lounge bookings including meeting and greeting both at JKIA and Wilson
airports in support of departure and arrival of Senior Staff. Arrange airport transfers of high-level officials and
UNICEF visitors such as donors and support to expedite customs and
immigration procedures as necessaryWorking closely with Advocacy and Partnership team,
assist in processing relevant clearance and entry permits for filming
equipment for visiting crewsProcess annual requests for airport passes for senior
To qualify as an advocate for every

Completion of an A-level certificate
and graduate education is compulsory. Training in travel and related matters is
Six years of relevant experience in
similar field of work.
Fluency in English and local
language is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an
