Job Description

Customers make the first transaction at the theater with the box office employee, so he/she must know how to work the theater’s cash register and ticketing system. Box Office Staff must attend to the customers by selling tickets, answering and directing phone calls. He/she must also have to answer miscellaneous questions guests ask. Cashiers must have a decent knowledge of current movies/concession stand prices.

· Receiving payments by cash, credit cards, debit cards and also through MPESA payments using the company’s buy goods and services till number

· Sell tickets and concessions to customers

· Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers

· Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change

· Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on products the company is selling

· Ensure that requisitions of items are done early at the start of shifts and that items are fully stocked at all times

· Keeps candy shop area neat and stocked with necessary supplies

· Maintain a high level of interactions with the customers and also ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer while maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer care

· Compile and maintain the cash reconciliation book. Ensure that all MPESA, Visa and cash collection figures are noted daily

· Training new cashiers

· Exercise a very high degree of honesty when handling cash with customers and your fellow cashiers

· Any other tasks/duties/responsibilities allocated to you by the management from time to time

Key requirements

1. Good communication skills

2. Proficiency in computer applications

3. Prior experience as a cashier in the hospitality industry a must

4. Experience in customer service

5. Ability to work in multicultural environment
